This abutilon cutting is a 'star' because

as well as its 'green' leaves, it's now produced these two further flower buds. Will they open up and look like this one did in August?

The 6 inch tall cutting was given to Ray by a friend and is resolutely growing in its little pot, near the house now, for a bit of shelter from the frost and fog.
Super shot Hazel! Brilliant focusing and clever you, working in the green aspect! Your house must be like a wonderful greenhouse!

Oops, no, this one is in the garden!

Well done plant - it must like that spot! Looks exotic - I thought you were going to say it was indoors!

@tishpics Well the house is a bit like a greenhouse but I do try not to have plants that need watering upstairs as they can get forgotten!

@judithg I think we might end up bringing it at least into the utility as it's only semi-hardy. I want to pick the right moment though, not when it's too late!!

So pretty. I wonder what it will look like when it opens.

@mittens Click on the link in my text under the photo and you can see the flower - which is quite different when it opens!

Beautiful shot of the flower and a great capture of the light

So interesting! I went to the picture from summer and that's a great capture with the droplet (what's bokeh?)
I still don't know where you go for the word challenges. I bookmarked the one you'd given me for October, but that doesn't have the November stuff, and now it's December!!!

Lovely shot Hazel. Great "star" but I nearly missed it as Sophia decided that her list should be tagged as December-list. I wondered why there were only three posts for December-list this late in the day!

Very lovely shot! I loved looking back at the other one too. I'm not familiar with this plant but it is beautiful.

@purplehaze12 Thank you for telling me about the change of tag and I've redone this one now. Thanks for looking and commenting too!

@nana2r Thank you. I think it comes in slightly different flowers in the different varieties but I love the way this one develops a yellow 'skirt'!

@barbcapecod I had to ask a while ago to make sure i understand bokeh. The word is Japanese and means blur or haze and is that hazy background effect you can get in some macro shots. My friend speaks a bit of Japanese and tells me it's pronounced bokay (with a short sound {say as in 'pot' }on the first syllable). Here's the dec12 list
http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/15136/dec-12-decide-4-december-words (I see it's bokeh tomorrow so had better start practising some macro shots to get some!!!)

What a beautiful image.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks, Hazel, I've been wondering about the word for a long time, but didn't know who to ask. I should have known you'd get back to me!
December 4th, 2012
@barbcapecod It's a pleasure - feel free to ask anything!!! If I know the answer ,I'll tell you and if I don't, I'll try to find out!
