We wait till all the flowers are gone, cut the flower stem quite short just above a bud, move it to a cool windowsill and leave it there until something happens!
You get a 50% success rate - either it does or it does not!
@andrewrome365 I do similar but I feel that orchids are rather capricious. I have friends who have had one flowering for a few years just non-stop and they don't even 'feed' it!!
It is so rewarding when an orchid gives new birth.
