'pink' bergenia by our little stream.....

....the original cutting for this came from my parents' garden when we moved into this house 20+ years ago and now we have quite a large patch of bergenia.
Beautiful shot, Hazel. I love Bergenias and also had a large patch of them when I had a garden. I do miss it, but would be unabve to tend it now.

Lovely shot Hazel - how nice to see some colour in your garden at this time of year. Not much happening in mine at the moment - my dog ate most of my bulbs last year when he was a tiny puppy!!

It is lovely for you to have some colour in your garden. nothing is showing in ours yet apart from the snowdrops which are not quite properly open

Beautiful shot made more beautiful by the story behind them.

@wordpixman

Thank you, Arthur. The bergenias are especially nice this year - maybe they like it wet and cold! I understand you missing your garden.

@pamknowler
As long as your puppy did not suffer from eating the bulbs!

We just have these plus some purple hellebores - neither of them visible from the house but lovely to have them.

Karen, thanks and for appreciating the story. My mother died suddenly at our house a few months later so these bergenias are rather like a tribute to her. Long time ago now - 27 years.

Lovely shot and they are such a pretty color.

How lovely that these little flowers are cheering you up now when it's so grey and cold. Beautiful shot!

Thank you for your comment, as ever. There are so many more of these flowers this year.

Lovely shot. The colour is beautiful

You are a few months ahead with nature. We have a similar plant in our garden and the Dutch name for it is `` Schoenlappers plant`` ( +/- Cobbler plant )

@pyrrhula

This plant has been flowering for a while. I wonder why it has that name in Dutch?

How beautiful that you still have this beautiful plant flowering, a very precious flower I should imagine. Lovely capture.

The photo is beautiful, and I'm jealous of you having even a touch of spring, but most of all, I like the story.

@barbcapecod
Thank you. I think these stories have more significance as time goes on.

Thank you. The bergenia has masses of flowers this year which also appeared quite early. I think I'm soon going to be tempted to bring a few into the house.
