Never mind 'England' what about 'Manchester United'
(and maybe a heroic 'dragon' in red)? Neil is a huge fan. He and Ray were watching the match and I was here in the hall 365ing when Neil suddenly produced a bottle of sparkling rosé and brought me a glass. So it was pink bubbles when normally I would have been getting into my jimjams.
My photographic efforts were quite a mess but retrieved somewhat by PicMonkey's diptych facility.
There are only the two of us in our house and 50% of them are football nutters . Me I just go off and do other more interesting things!
Oh and Hazel this is a great diptych!!!
Not an image I wish to be reminded of, can't stand Ferguson et al! Good hat trick though, pleased for RvP, he was very loyal to Wenger until Man U prised him away. I could go on...and on! Good capture off the TV and of Ray!
Fav photo Hazel i dont follow Man U i think the photo is great though I'm a Brentford fan i used to go in the early 90s when we won the division i went to all the home Games my best friend who used to come with me to the Games passed away 7 years ago its not the same without him but i always listen and look out for the Bees result that is there nick name as i enjoy my photography more now :-)
I thought maybe I should clarify that my photographic efforts were a mess because of the lighting conditions (bright TV screen - dark lounge) not because I had drunk just one glass of bubbles!!!!!!!!!!
Football --groan --usually interferes with my Coro viewing !! --not a footie fan !!but you have done quite a good job here in spite of blaming the light !!
Apologies to Neil - wrote in a bit of a haze after a rather disrupted night (see my 23/04/13 comment to Elaine!) Football is, I'm afraid, a bit like politics and religion - tricky topic!!! (especially when you're not the champions!!!)
Ivan, hope you catch up on your sleep - now are you sure dental treatment was not an excuse for working all night on a pic for 365 (kidding, as Ferry, @pyrrhula, would say!) I'm absolutely amazed at the response to my football pics!
Mary. thank you for your comment! The word for today is England. Last night Manchester United played and won a game which means they are top of the league - Neil is an ardent supporter. I think maybe he was rather confident they would win to have the pink bubbles ready in the fridge - or maybe we would have consoled ourselves with them if they had lost! My only interest in football is that it makes the men in my family happy!!!
Thank you, Hazel. Don't be amazed - there was a banner, and others similar, at the match last night saying, 'Man U, our religion'! Plus the partners of football fans and their issues!
Hazel, I'm proud of you for keeping with your project day after day! I have trouble getting motivated some days....some weeks. Running out of ideas! Keep up the good work!
Football is always an emotive subject , you either seem to love it or hate it! I like to know who has won & where they are in the league but hate watching i & do something more interesting like you!!!
Good that you get bubbly though....i think Man U did something good perhaps!!!!
Oh and Hazel this is a great diptych!!!
Ivan, that's Neil, our son - Ray will be chuffed to have lost more than 20 years in one fell swoop!! (Neil won't be offended!!!)
Lesley, now c'mon, look on the bright side - the football season is off the TV screen every year for a full TWO months!
Thanks, Hazel, I agree. It's one time that I can have the computer to myself in the evening!
I thought maybe I should clarify that my photographic efforts were a mess because of the lighting conditions (bright TV screen - dark lounge) not because I had drunk just one glass of bubbles!!!!!!!!!!
I'm amazed at how much 'feeling' this little diptych has aroused!!!

Sterling, thank you - my problem really is having too many photos - probably I have too much time on my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Julian, I can hardly contain myself!! I'd rather make the acquaintance of that heron in your back garden!
Great collage to show the enjoy. Nice looking guy
Good that you get bubbly though....i think Man U did something good perhaps!!!!
I think that's why Neil likes them!!
