She was sitting on a high perch at the back of her aviary and seemed interested in the various small sounds my camera made. I was interested to find that the long zoom on the camera could obliterate the fine wire mesh of the aviary.
FAV !!!!! Mrs Jones is very regal & quietly proud & well she may so deservingly be ! Beautiful feather texture, tone & detail. Her eye's are so deep set it is though she is hiding inside while knowing & seeing everything in quiet observation.
best yet. this is my favourite one of your birdy pictures. so intelligent looking and looks like there was a real connection between you. great shot and such detail.
According to the handler who conducted the flying demo, vultures are the intelligent ones and owls are (in his words) 'thick as two short planks'............ I'll take an owl any day!
Tony, thank you, and I have to say that I'm a bit puzzled as to how I GOT them! Never thought the trip to the raptor centre would result in all of these!
I've come back to look at this several times, love it, and am glad to see it made the TT. I can't believe I didn't fav it before, which was certainly an oversight.
Sorry Hazel been a bit out of the loop over the past few days. Many congrats on the TT with this super shot, very well deserved and a belated fav from me too!
Missed this Hazel but saw it on the TTpage. Wow you are clever takes some doing to get on there!!!!
Very well deserved with this stunning owl....what a handsome girl she is...very wise faces they have indeed.
Karen, the way you describe her, I think I might like to be Mrs Jones!

Yes, my favourites - with robins a close second!!
Ivan, TT - in your dreams!!!!
I think you are right about the owl - and my dog does the same as yours - owls and dogs both have very acute hearing.

Thank you! I'm highly amazed and highly chuffed!!
Richard, thank you and it's truly an expected honour for me to get on TT !
Thank you - she's going to be printed off and hung on a wall, along with a couple of others.
Daryl, thank you for the fav and for your supportive comments.
Well OK, then, thank you!!!
Oh WOW, Julie, you made my favs total up to 50 - never been known before. I'm just organising a print of Mrs Jones!
Thanks, Paula - it's quite hard to keep up with everyone, I find!
