bacchus

"Ah, drink me up
That I may be
Within your cup
Like a mystery,
Like wine that is still
In ecstasy."

A verse from 'Mystery' a love poem by D H Lawrence.

This bacchus vine is not about wine. It grows on the back wall of our house and produces a few bunches of grapes each season which then turn mouldy.

This year it's covered in lot of large bunches which will no doubt also go mouldy in a few weeks' time. But it looks very French right now.
Love all the greenery! Lovely!

As long as your're not suffering with a bout of sour grapes, this capture is very good. Lovely shades of green.

A nice reminder of your recent French excursion. Do they not ripen at all? You have reminded me of our neighbour when we were first married. We lived next door to a polish couple and he group grapes in the back yard. This was Lancashire no less! He always picked them. He was an amazing baker too, oh the cakes they gave us, happy days;0)
