the pattern in the flower beds

This is the display in front of the house at Mottisfont.

I caught a lady's white sun hat bottom right and there was a bright blue ice-cream van in the background so I was pleased to have learnt some cloning skills.

Cloning is as simple as abc - I just followed the instructions with FastStone and it worked a dream. There really is nothing clever about it. Thanks for your visits!

I'm not seeing the hat or the van. What is cloning? The pattern is wonderful, and the folks facing the garden must have a gorgeous view out of their windows.

Sandy, it's a way of getting rid of unwanted items in a shot. I've only just had the facility to do it since I got FastStone but i do find it useful now and then. Basically you 'lift' a bit of colour from somewhere else in the shot to obliterate the unwanted items - it's not difficult.
