A 'conversation' with one of my 365 friends somehow developed into the idea that I might do a series on Wetherspoon's pubs and the history of the buildings they inhabit.
The Wagon Works sits on a corner opposite the railway station in Eastleigh, just a few miles down the road from us.
This was originally a brewhouse, a thatched building, built in 1712, known as Ye Old Home Tavern, then The Home Tavern and now The Wagon Works
The railway station opened in 1841 and in 1891 Eastleigh became an important railway town when the carriage and wagon works were opened next to the station. Repair shops and a locomotive works were added later.
Great idea, Hazel. I have been to seventeen of them so far, all different, including some great buildings, and all with that distinctive identity, quality of service and value for money!
Great captures and a great idea Hazel. Interesting information about the railway and the wagon works building. I have just viewed your brilliant previous shots of the striking railway statue.
Arthur, I'm thinking of employing you as my 'scout'!! Thanks for comments!
I think a few breakfasts will be in order!
You could show us?!

Good idea!! I might try including the interior of one - when Ray takes me for breakfast!
