'The Standing Order' in Southampton is the second in my occasional series of Wetherspoon's pubs. It takes its name from the former premises of a bank which it now occupies. Prior to that a centuries old church used to stand on the site.
In attempting to find a bit more about the history I found via Google that there is a Wetherspoon's in Edinburgh which has the same name, for the same reason.

Looks like a super place for breakfast. I think I would be a regular. We have a mid term breakfast with our U3A. This café would be ideal. Well it would if I didn't need a packed lunch to get there. ha ha.
That is a great name for an eating place! The lettering is very smart too, altogether an asset to the town! There will be loads of banks changing into various other establishments, ours is now an optician! It makes me cross, they don't want our walk in custom anymore!

Vegetarian? That orange juice is a medium size!
All commerce seems to get more & more remote from the consumer.
