A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
It's not a problem now but I think I'll leave him in the box. It seems there are more restrictions on posting shots of dogs than of humans. Some time ago I captured a shot for my strangers' project of a lady walking a hearing dog puppy. She was happy for me to post it but asked me to wait until she had checked with the organisation. They came back with a definite 'no' as somebody might recognise the puppy - a golden labrador....................
Another cute capture in lovely detail and colour Hazel, I never take shots of pets but will remember your warning it would not have occurred to me there could be a problem:)
They are so sweet. I never realized that there was a problem with posting photos of dogs. Maybe I should remove my 'bitsa', somebody may recognise him.
Never realised there was a problem with photographing dogs! Always very careful to get permission to photograph children but never thought about dogs. Having said that, unless we are at an event such as an agricultural show,we usually chat to the owner first anyway. Lovely photo.
I saw your shat and thought -puppies!- but i, too, have never heard of this issue with pet postings. Is this only with registered animals? Wonderful capture of these two, btw.
I only mentioned the necessity to secure permission to post the photos of the Jack Russell pups because Cherrill remembered, and could not find, my shot of the little one in the box - and I don't wish to spread consternation. I don't think there is a problem in general with photographing dogs in public and have done it often myself but always ask permission. When I next meet our vet at a Canine Partners' event I hope to be able to have a chat with her so I can clarify matters for myself. Remember I was on private property (vet practice) taking shots of thse pups.
As for the embargo on me publishing a shot of the hearing dog puppy which I took in public and had asked permission, I still do not really understand it.
In my research on this I found that it is illegal to take photos of UK banknotes without permission (something else to worry about!!!!!!!!!)
A lovely image - they are just too cute - Fav Don't we have trouble just taking photos of cute little things. It's a good job the birds don't have to sign a release paper! LOL
They're so cute- and wow- I never realized there were so many nuances to taking pictures of animals! But I'm with you, I'd rather err on the side of caution than unnecessarily ruffle someone's "feathers".
You are very observant, Cherrill. I took it off as there was a slight difficulty with permission to post but all sorted now. Shall I re-post him?!

I thought nobody would notice - but I reckoned without your attention to detail!

See my post I've just written above!
No, not all Cherrill and please don't feel like that. It's good to know what we need to know.
