We woke up to a covering of snow this morning and now it's snowing determinedly again.
That's Jinks' garden on the left and beyond it the white circle is usually a green grassy patch. He used to take his toys and trophies there before he was 'confined' on account of his Houdini-like activities.
I've just started dog-walking for the Cinnamon Trust which is a good cause but which in no way consoles me for the loss of Jinks.
What an interesting narrative and lovely image Hazel, we also had more snow overnight, hope to get out on foot to take some shots our little road is snowed in:)
You have got your snow at last Hazel !! My 1st thought was Jinks garden !! I am glad to see the "confined " area still there - is this perhaps for future use ? Perhaps one day a new little member to the family to occupy that area and the void in you heart !
If we do have another dog, it will definitely be confined to that small garden as we realise it's impossible to make the main garden safe. But I think we shall not get another, all things considered. We might do short-term fostering.
Our doggy friends always leave such a hole in our hearts and there is always something to remind us. I like your idea of dog walking and fostering. The snow brings new shapes to the garden.
Wow! What a fabulous capture, looks so pretty.
You are probably so over your Winter by now?
We have just come into Autumn in Australia & we are still getting stinking hot days.
My garden looks the same! Lovely that you can walk dogs for the Cinnamon Trust. It wouldn't be the same as your beloved Jinks but I am sure the dogs appreciate you.
What a difference a hemisphere makes, we are melting and you are freezing.
Lovely to see Jinks' bit of the garden is still there and you haven't changed it. His memory will always be with you and you will deal with it better as time goes on. Just try and remember the fun things and not the sad ones. It will get easier.

It’s amazing that we have any at all - you win on snow..... @phil_howcroft

Babs, thanks for your comments. I think life with Jinks was one big adventure and I just feel a bit flat sometimes!
