Terrific capture the birds are not eating here either except for my resident pair of blackbirds who are gobbling up the sultanas I bought for them. Fav
Robins are such faithful and perky birds. We don't have many these days...nor blackbirds nor thrushes as agricultural changes continue to alter their habitat. This year we've got Bramblings which we've seen before.
I agree robins are faithful and perky but have learned they are also little bullies! I lament the scarcity of thrushes, such photogenic birds. Bramblings I do not know.
So appealing aren't they? The vicious little b******s! Stylish food tray! The starlings, jackdaws and rooks visit our garden en masse and gobble up the fat balls in minutes!
@quietpurplehaze Perhaps your neighbours don't encourage them? Many people only want the small pretty birds in their gardens. My mother hated starlings because she thought them disputatious and ungainly... she had obviously never seen them en masse in flight.
@quietpurplehaze only on the ground. In the air flying in formation in their thousands.... a 'murmuration' ... they are amazingly smooth and beautiful, flying as if one single organism.

Oops! Bramblings which we've NOT seen before.
Margo, perhaps I'll be lucky enough to see you post one!
Yes, until recently I had the Christmas card image of robins in my consciousness. Your garden is more popular than ours!
I think starlings do merit your mother’s adjectives. I’d like to get a shot of a couple having a ‘dogfight’ in the air.
