We had an old tree felled this week: a 30 feet tall conifer in our front garden looking sad with brown patches.
The idea soon germinated to plant a new tree in the space it left: a double pink flowering hawthorn in memory of our daughter, Clare.
The tree is in the garage, (just fits in - unexpectedly 10 feet tall!) delivered yesterday evening and Ray will plant it this morning. Its blossom is described as being 'rose-like' and the tree 'popular with wildlife'.
Hopefully, next May, it will give a fine display of colour....
At first your comment was a bit worrying but now Ray is looking at exactly where he will plant the tree, thank you!
Yes, I guess that's how it is. I do feel somehow this helps me - hard to explain.
