.. up on Old Winchester Hill. We found no cowslips but a bitter wind, ice in the sheep drinking trough, plenty of mud, lots of shots of grey clouds and ..... just as we were returning to the car..... this kitesurfer. I was snapping away and suddenly remembered that the other word today is 'kite'.
Now we're home and going to have egg on toast for lunch; Jinks is flaked out in his bed in the lounge and it's looking highly likely I shall succumb to a siesta this afternoon (while Ray does a job of fixing new shelves in the garage for the wine rack - he's partial to a bit of DIY.)
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
I was able to take loads of shots - there were 4 kite flyers in the air at different times- this was the brightest. And I wasn't panicked as I had forgotten it was the word of the day! (Memory lapses have some advantages!)
How do we say it : `` het geluk is met de domme``( Luck goes with the innocents ? ) Very beautiful pic. Love the view on the hills and the red of the kite slashing out of the pic.
Thank you, Beryl - it was the only bit of colour around Winchester Hill today!
Yes, incredibly bizarre. You have a nice day too!

Pam, it certainly was, especially as I didn't immediately realise it had happened!!!
Gena, thanks - I was a little confused (although I can normally understand 'typos') as I was thinking of the scent of cowslips (see my title!!)
Thank you all for our comments.
'het geluk is met de domme' @pyrrhula I'll take that as a compliment, then?!
