looking outside from inside.....

...the Saxon church.

The church is quite bare and simple - also difficult to take photos inside.

It has had secular use as a school and a cottage.

A superb image Hazel, showing the sturdy round Saxon archway (I did Church architecture at O-level in the 50s!) and the solid structure of the little church. I love the golden tones, where was this?

Ah! Bradford on Avon! One of the O-level examples! It was the most useful O-level I ever did, still get enjoyment from the knowledge today!

@tishpics

Sounds like an interesting O-level - no equivalent GCSE I'm sure.

Outstanding job keeping detail in the stone. This is very much like a castle, not a church.

Beautfiul, moody and evocative. A fav.

@rvwalker

The stone perhaps but the size is minuscule compared with a castle.
