....just trying to beat the blackbirds. For the first time in donkey's years our one Bacchus vine on the back wall of the house has produced quite good size bunches of quite good size grapes. They are very attractive to the blackbirds so today I've picked a few. I think Ray's going to have a go at making grape juice.
And I'm having a try at 'square September'.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
We have Four grapevines Hazel and I take them all up to my Mothers, my Father makes grape juice out of them and bottles it all up, I cannot have any because of my diabetes, lovely shot
Is this where the Bachus wine comes from...I didn't realise it was a specific grape.....you learn something new everyday! I sincerely hope you have your shoes & socks off at this very moment treding them vigouresly.
Wonderful capture of the light on the grapes. I like this a lot. Only time we successfully grew grapes - long ago in Oklahoma - I made lovely pink jelly. First and last time I ever did that, but it was good.
These have lots of pips too - and tough skins - hence Ray's idea of grape juice as the flavour is good!
Amazingly sweet for wine grapes.
I think we'll only get a glass full each!
No but I've just pressed a bunch through a sieve and given Ray a sherry-glass-full of grape juice to drink!
Great shot/pic/composition of those yummi grapes.
