brown, murky, smelly, dirty

The main pic shows our little stream in a flash flood on Saturday 18 inches higher than its normal flow and lapping over the bridge; I took the two other pics yesterday when it flooded again but not as high.

I really feel wholeheartedly for folk who have had this inside their houses.
Nice contrast of brown and green - your ferns are looking vibrant. I agree with comment on flood victims. Nice photo

The green is so bright.

@doblaine I think the ferns could be the only species who actually enjoy this weather.

@motheroftwins21 Yes I think the ferns are happy!!!

An interesting shot, Hazel. I love the bright green ferns, especially.

I have a grimace upon my face as I write this, not nicefor everybody who has had to suffer this, but nice light on the water :)

@granny7 Linda, thank you - without the ferns it would be very murky!

@cleanfreak It's pretty unlovely Carole I agree, thanks for having a look and finding something nice in it!

Quite alarming Hazel, when is all this rain going to end? Nice ferns though!

@tishpics I can't imagine when the rain will stop. Had another deluge this afternoon. I have a new strategy -if it's not raining when I get up we go OUT before breakfast, before anything! Some of our ferns are enormous!

I feel for you with the amount of rain you have had - wettest summer in history I think I heard? Your capture has a sadness about it, however the ferns are holding up to the torrents of water.

@creativeamateur Jinks is not allowed out in the garden alone on the rare occasions when the stream floods. I mean, he doesn't like water, but what if he fell in..............
