You can see from my shot that it was a bright sunny day at Exbury Gardens, in the New Forest, where we encountered Angela and Pete. They were spending a few days in our area. They live in Devon.
They specially love spending holidays in Barcelona and told the story of getting stuck there once when the volcano in Iceland erupted and disrupted travel for many people.
Angela worked as an auxiliary nurse at their local hospital and Pete was a sheet metalworker before they both retired. They like walking and being out and about. Their children and grandchildren take up any spare time they have left.
I'm a bit disappointed with the light and shade on their faces in the shot. But it does show a couple enjoying themselves in each others company and they were pleased when I showed them on the camera screen and I'll be emailing it to them.
How nice to have the confidence to walk up to and chat with total strangers. Do you ever get any abuse, or are you just good at picking out cooperative characters?
Julie, no abuse ever. Have had about 4 refusals but always a valid reason given. I tend to 'circle round' my intended subjects first rather than just approach them directly but I do seem to have a 'feel' for who to ask! A dog walker is used to chatting with strangers!!
