looking up

posted for the weekly theme

Ray and I had a fright this morning. I looked up shortly after I had woken up and noticed several rather large wet patches on the bedroom ceiling.

We have been envisaging a new roof but when a firm of two young brothers turned up promptly at the time specified they found that the previous workmen who refurbished the chimney last year had left the flashing lodged under the tiles instead of sitting on top of them.

So we are hopeful it will be speedily resolved and as I did not meet either of them I might prevail on one or both when they return to do the work to be in my strangers' project. So long as I don't have to get on the roof to take the photos. Every cloud.....
My word that was a sharp response to your problem! We have a damp front wall & we have seen a tile not fitting properly but the builders next door came round but they haven't fixed it! Send your men up here! Wouldn't like to be responsible for this roof!

@happypat

Pat, it's an unusual response and one of the brothers even answered Ray's original phone call when he was working up on a roof in this bitter weather.

I hope the flashing adjustment does the trick for you, Hazel...and that you are able to include the workmen in your project!
Beautiful image of Winchester Cathedral!
