Flash of Red Day 5

Forms in Nature

In case you've never seen it, that hairy vine is wintering over poison ivy. Some people are very allergic to it.
I always knew how to recognize the leaves but never paid much attention to the vines. We moved into a rental home when my sons were younger and just after winter when the weather started to warm up I went out to the backyard and removed some vines that were smothering a Dogwood tree- haha only to find out rather quickly it was poison ivy which hadn't gotten its leaves yet! Needless to say I always wore gloves after that even when I knew it wasn't poison ivy! Great texture on this shot- makes me a little itchy just looking at it!!

I'm very allergic and don't even want to look too closely at your picture.

@olivetreeann good story Ann. I'm not sure that I'm allergic but I've taken every precaution to avoid a reaction, including bathing in Fels Naptha soap after a potential exposure.
