My friend noticed the tool and the sign next to the restaurant where we had dinner last night and couldn't stop laughing. She asked what the tool was and I searched for a bit to determine it is a cradle scythe. Then I asked her what was so funny about it. I hadn't connected the toothed object with the hair salon. Duh!

It seems to be funnier to me every time I look at this. @cocokinetic Well, i guess you need to know that there is an antiques store to the right of the salon (out of the photo, of course). I think the box shaped object is a cage of some sort, probably for transporting live stock, such as baby chicks or something. Someone else may know more.
