I have just had 6 weeks of not being able to drive and really appreciate the fact that I am driving again now. Although I have been grateful to my legs for being my primary mode of transport.
Definitely a critical need in this country. There are so many places that don’t have reliable public transportation in the distances we have to travel or sometimes very large anyway. Nice shot of your ride
Hallelujah for that! Well running and dependable car is a true blessing. Now if you decide to take an adventurous road trip and pull up in front of my house, I’ll recognize the car!
@olivetreeann It = independence, especially when one lives outside a city where there's not much in the way of public transportation or even sidewalks. @wakelys Susan, I hope you're back on wheels soon. Walking around here is difficult. I live on a busy road with drivers who take the 35mph speed limit as a suggestion only. No sidewalks and crappy shoulder. @grammyn You're so right. I moved just outside the city limits so no sidewalk, bad shoulders on the road and busy road. Like you said, little in the way of public transportation. Thank you. @tunia Absolutely right Tunia. I felt bad when I moved my mother here and she had no car. Of course she was moving into Alzheimer's quickly and wouldn't have known where to go anyway. @mcsiegle Thanks Mary. And who knows, now that I have your address, when this virus crap is over, I may land on your doorstep. (PS. it won't be unannounced.) Thanks for the invite. @pyrrhula Thank you. Solar cars might be problematic in areas here where it's very rural for long distances. @kjarn Yes it is Kathy. @jamibann Thanks Issi. @pusspup I can go but I don't. Hanging pretty close to home these days. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian. It's a 2011 Subaru Outback. I love it. @craftymeg Thanks Margaret. We're allowed to travel, but mine's has only been for groceries, drug store, doctor appointments and a few other errands since March.
