52 Week Challenge Week 15 - Celebration
This didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned it in my head. Had to do quite a bit of post processing. I also burned a placemat with the sparks and broke the bottle that I had the sparklers in. Oh well, photography is often a learning process. And now I only have 4 more 52 week challenge photos to be caught up to this week on the 52 week challenge. Will have to get busy.
Thank God nothing more than the placemat burned! So, we have some forced perspective going on here? I don’t think you stuck the sparklers into the cake you mention a bottle. Great effect even if it’s not what you envisioned .
@wakelys Thank you Susan @30pics4jackiesdiamond I was safe and I had the sense to do this outside on the patio. My inexperience with sparklers is why had had some adverse outcomes. Thank you Jackie. @mcsiegle Yes, no serious loss to anything thank goodness. As I said to Jackie, I had the sense to do this outside. I had the bottle behind the boxes the plate and cupcake are sitting on so that only the sparklers would be visible. I did remove a bit of the top of the bottle that showed behind the top box in photoshop when I was post processing the photo. I also extended the candles just a bit into the frosting to make it look like candles in the cake.
So sorry there were some bumps along the road to get this shot but glad to hear there were no serious problems. Seems that even though it wasn't quite what you were looking for you got a pretty good outcome with this shot. Well done!
Hi Kathy @randystreat
Looks like you had a great time photographing food this month. Well done.
Happy to be get-pushed partners this week, my challenge for you is taking the word "opposites" and represent it in any way that you wish. Please let m know if you are not able to take this on, I'll be happy to giver you another challenge.
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann. It was an adventure. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry. @Dawn Thank you Dawn. @grammyn Thank you Katy. Glad I thought to do it outside and didn't burn the place down. @kjarn Thanks Kathy @bkbinthecity You're right. It just means I need to play with sparklers more often. Thanks Brian. @jamibann Thank you Issi. @aikiuser Thank you Jenn. @haskar I did have fun. Thanks Hannah. @pusspup Haha! More like stupidity. @craftymeg It was a bit of fun until the top of the bottle exploded. That shook me up just a bit. @tunia Oh, I'm so lucky I didn't set anything on fire. I had the sense to do this outside, it was raining and there was water spigot next to me.
