The Blob!

Several fungi have sprung up in the back yard the past few days. Spotted this leaf leaned up against one and the thought that the fungus was getting ready for autumn came across my mind. Perhaps even Halloween.

The fungi this year have been prolific around here. I like this 'blob' version you've found.

That is a very interesting fungi. It kind of looks like a gopher head poking out of the ground.

@summerfield Thanks Vikki. It's at the start of the septic drain field, so the rain we had a week ago might have something to do with it. That and the fact that I did wash several loads of laundry.
@taffy It's been humid, but not so much rain lately. I'm not sure I've ever seen fungi here at this house, although I'm not out in the yard every day. Thanks.
