Wind and rain

Get Pushed #514
My challenge this week is to show the wind as in "Who has seen the wind?".
I'm still working with my ND filters. I seem to want them to block more light than they do, but at 6:30pm today it did the trick. There is some exposure adjustment here, but not a lot. I must have taken about 30 shots that were overexposed, and one majorly underexposed trying to get the slowed movement I was looking for. This was a challenge. Thank goodness for a thunderstorm late this afternoon.
@farmreporter Wendy, here is my photo for your challenge. I've tried using the ND filter before with mixed results and I thought it would be necessary to use it again today in order to have a slow enough shutter speed to show the movement of the tree branches. Thank you for pushing me to do this. I hope that I will remember it for the future.

Good shot- I have struggled with my ND filter too- still don't understand it and usually revert to the old slow shutter speed trick for the effect I'm looking for. One of these days I plan to take it, a note book and pen and try everything and record it. When all the numbers line up I'll highlight and circle it for future use!

@olivetreeann Good idea. I think the fact that they come in different stops makes a difference too.

Nice achievement on the movement

This one looks really good on back and I think you have caught the motion caused by the wind very well. It was worth the effort I think.

your aperture could have been smaller and you would have got more movement, maybe use aperture priority or fully manual mode i always max out the settings for a start, highest f-stop, lowest iso and adjust to taste , then of course you need to pay attention to stabilising the camera, i cant always be bothered using a tripod
