Get Pushed Challenge 545
My partner this week said "how about some high key as many of your images lately have been more low key?" Hmm. I guess I do take a lot of low key stuff. I found this hard today. The natural light from outside wasn't very bright as it was pretty cloudy. Too lazy to find lamp, and then they're usually off white and I wanted a white white. So after taking a number of photos with different camera settings, I settled on this one and took to photoshop.
And isn't porcelain a fancy name for a Dollar Store set around.
@annied Well here goes. It's not my best work. Perhaps I'll try another this week, but in case I don't I submit this. Thank you for the challenge. i realize that I've become a lazy photographer relying too much on post processing. I hope I do get some time to do a better photo right out of the camera.
this is great. aces! but if you want to get rid of that gray left and have a uniform white (or almost white background), you can clone it out and pull your hair☺, or, re-shoot, shine a bright lamp on your background, then reduce the exposure to 1/10 (or lower).
I think it's superb!! White on white is soooooooo difficult. You've got the smooth reflective texture of the porcelain, gorgeous bokeh. Love that cute ornament
I always think you do really well with these. I don't think it really matters whether you accomplish something like this in-camera or via post processing. I do agree that the "higher road" though is being able to accomplish most of the look you want via the camera itself. So, good job!
Turned out beautifully! I've been experimenting with white/high key stuff recently, as I too tend to lean into darks when I'm short on a shot for the day.
@summerfield I'll keep that in mind about the extra lighting. Thank you for your feedback. @grammyn Thank you for the supportive comments. @thewatersphotos Thank you Gary. I watched a class (and now i forget where I saw it) on Zoom and the speaker talked about getting lots of things in a dollar store to use as props and filters. It was pretty interesting. @wakelys Thank you Sue. @granagringa Thanks so much. @30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you. @rensala Thanks so much. @pyrrhula Thank you. @annied Thank you Annie. @olivetreeann Appreciate the supportive comments Ann. @bkbinthecity Thank you @kuva Thank you. I'd love to give it to you. @johnfalconer Thank you. @casablanca Glad you liked it. Thanks. @craftymeg Thank you.
