I thought the blooms on this 2 year old lilac had been nipped by the several nights of freezing weather and frost we've had in the past month. But these are blooming well and smell wonderful.
So terribly jealous, that you have lilacs, and even more jealous that they look so beautiful. Whenever I smell them, they take me right back to my childhood.
@onewing It's nice, but I have to get down low to smell them. The bush is about knee high in all. @Dawn Thank you Dawn. @grammyn My mom had a lilac bush that was wonderful. Every time I rounded the corner to go to the back door, I'd have to go past it. I tried planting a sucker down here (she lived in PA) but it didn't live. I think this particular shrub must be one that can tolerate the higher heat of this area. @olivetreeann Thank you Ann.
Mine died and suckers are growing elsewhere, no flowers yet. Wonder if surviving suckers don't thrive. ( Goggles but "suckers" gets off results!)
Lovely colour tone
@pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. They do smell nice. @brillomick Thank you Mickey. Enjoy! @mcsiegle Oh wow Mary. Your's is probably a big shrub. Started too late for that here. Perhaps before I die...
@Dawn Thank you Dawn.
