Word of the Day—Dark. I chose this view of the Sandpiper running on what looks like a black sand beach. Sandpipers, unlike most birds, are quite agile on the ground, and rather awkward in flight. I was out shooting early in the morning in bright sunshine so I was surprised when I saw the strong contrast in this frame. SOOC, no cropping.
