Wild Blue Yonder

We sailed off into the blue for a four- day adventure and as it turned out, I was off the grid the entire time. No electric power, batteries only. It wasn't so much by design as it was difficulties with camera equipment, failed batteries, full media card and plain old poor planning in terms of how to power the photo equipment. Encountered three schools of dolphins doing flips 6- feet in the air but alas-no pics to prove it. And no ability to post photos the entire trip. Se la vie.

However, the sailing trip itself was a huge success! First time for us to do the 26-mile journey to Santa Catalina Island and back on our sailboat. We had perfect weather, calm seas, and I didn't get seasick- yeah! Had a rocking time.
Wonderful image, glad you didn't get seasick!

PS -- so sad about us not getting to see the dolphins, but exciting you did!

@taffy I was at the helm of the boat when 2 dolphins leaped and arced in unison about 10 feet off the bow of the boat. Since I was "driving" and my camera was down in the cabin, all I could do was yell in amazement! @taffy

How nice to be off the grid for a few days.....that constant connectedness is wearing us all out! BTW, as much as I love the ocean I don't think I could be out there for that long, especially in rough weather. I get incredibly motion sick, and end up staring at the horizon forever! And, oh, those missed photo opportunities....feel like I need to have a camera attached to my body!
