Mandela's Gold is a rare yellow bird of paradise (botanical name Strelitzia). Botanists at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens in Cape Town started with just seven plants in the 1970s. Today we toured the gardens and enjoyed a delicious lunch on the outdoor patio.
