For someone who loves being on the water, the experience of being on Inle Lake, flying across the deep blue, pristine waters at dawn, dusk and just about every hour in between, was truly heaven on earth! We had two boats, each outfitted with wooden chairs, cushions and umbrellas so it was comfortable and there was plenty of room for our camera equipment.
The astounding thing was that although we sat low to the water line and the speeding boat sent out a huge plume of water, we never got wet. Many times we were very close, within a few feet of dozens of other boats, but the boatmen knew exactly how to maneuver so their passengers stayed dry. A couple times I used my umbrella to deflect the spray when it was windy. Forget cars on the freeway, I'll take a water taxi any time I can.
Loved Inle Lake, and our first experience was at night heading for our hotel on the lake....such a surreal and memorable experience!! Life on the water is pretty amazing, and that was an unforgettable place! Love how the clouds on the left seem to be picked up in the splash behind the boat! FAV!
