Dining in Italy is a multi- sensory experience. Lots of food, conversation, and vino, followed by dessert and limoncello. Some meals at the homes of our Italian friends, lasted nearly 3 hours. Others involved gulping down morning cappuccino and croissant at a stand-up bar or taking an evening stroll with cup of gelato in hand. Most of the dining was outdoors in cafes with views of the street or the sea and one memorable dinner was at a Michelin- starred restaurant. We literally ate our way through Italy and it was all good! But my absolute favorite was the lemon fettuccini with shrimp and basil at a tiny cafe in Sorrento, pictured on the bottom right.
