After several weeks of observing the Great Blue Herons in their habitat, I discovered one of the nests about 60 feet up in a palm tree. Finally these not- so- little chicks sat up so I could get a view. My guide book says they normally stay in the nest from 50-80 days being fed and cared for by the parents. I have more shots that I'll post over the next few days. BOB.
Wow, this is so cool. I've never seen any type of babies among the Great Blue Herons. But I have to ask.....how did you manage to get up to the nest if it's 60 feet in the air?
