A devastating early morning fire at the end of our town pier destroyed a once popular restaurant and captured loads of attention by making the national news. I saw a photo in today's Wall Street Journal and a friend said it was reported on the news in Pennsylvania last night. This is a screen shot from the local TV news station.
@maree_sanderson Fortunately, the restaurant had been closed for several years so it wan't occupied. I think one firefighter sustained some injuries though.
Wow...I'd heard it mentioned, but nothing more. Our piers have had a rough time of it over that last many years! Remember when a storm and huge wave lifted the end of the HB pier and dropped the restaurant into the ocean?! Thanks for sharing the news image!
