It was windy all day today, so it was hard to get a good close-up with a narrow range of focus, but this one turned out pretty well. I believe the tree is a flowering dogwood (Cornus florida rubra).
2015 edit. Yeaaah, I don't think this is a dogwood at all. I'm thinking it's in the apple and pear part of the rose family (Rosaceae).
