“Mineral, animal or vegetable?”

Vegetable, of course! According to our master gardener expert, this is “cleome.” This particular plant is in the at-the-street garden of our older daughter’s last piano teacher. This isn’t the view you’re going to find if you google images. I held the camera over the top of the plant, so this is a top-down look.

A fabulous perspective. The detail of this flower is awesome, as well as the colors.

Great perspective Thom. I've never seen or heard of this flower but from your shot it looks like a beautiful flower with fine detail. I agree with Michelle your flower shot are exceptional at the moment.

@dinelson Thanks, Diana! As I wrote, this is a [blind] overhead shot since I couldn’t get my camera and face above the top.

@michelleyoung Awww, thank you, Michelle. I don’t have to coax + cajole flowers to smile or wait for people to vacate & since I can’t just pop over to ruined castles ;), I have to work with what’s here.

@digitalrn Thank you so much, Rick! It really is a cool plant in its detail from some perspectives.

@tori3012 Thanks, Victoria! I hadn’t heard of it either and it is lovely in its detail! Indeed, another shot (my posterous posting; link above) has an “abstract” look to it!
