Christmas Eve with best friends by rhoing

Christmas Eve with best friends

Our younger daughter says this is the best day of the year and we count down the months every 24th-of-the-month. Vacation time may be limited for our girls in Boston, but being home for Christmas Eve is a priority.

Every year we go to Raymond & Jeanne’s. In good German tradition, they decorate their tree on Christmas Eve and the Mitchells help … while Raymond cooks (and serenades us from the kitchen). Once the tree is finished, we are treated to an amazing meal. This is the salad course this year and this salad was amazing: apple slices, pomegranate seeds, glazed walnuts and a dressing with honey in it. This was some salad! Raymond, you must make this one again!

The soup was lobster bisque; the entree was pork tenderloin; the dessert a trifle.
Lovely photo, Thom - such a nice time to get together with family and friends - where are you daughters in Boston?

Wow, it does sound like quite the meal, and such a neat tradition. It sounds like you all had a wonderful evening.

@sparkleplenty1 I wish I'd straightened things, but you get the idea! Our girls are across the river in the Cambridge area. Ball Square Cafe and Cambridge Common are favorite places when we visit. All this is making me hungry!

@digitalrn They are our best friends and it's always a wonderful evening with the best of food and company!
