Mom’s guest room [Travel day]

Today we drove the 590ish miles to suburban Detroit with the girls. (That’s about 950km for the metric folks.) This is the guest room in Clare’s mom’s home. The dresser and lamp were — we think — Clare’s great-grandmother’s. The wedding photo upper left is Clare’s parents; the baby photos upper right are Clare’s mom (top) and dad. The bouquet of flowers on the left side of the dresser was Clare’s bouquet for our wedding.

Oh now you're talking. I have a deep admiration for old things, and that is a real beauty.

@digitalrn We have a few family-important pieces in our home and -- quite honestly -- I'm surprised I haven't shot them and posted them in the last year... Maybe I should work on that this year!

@47thyear Thanks, Julie! I was frustrated trying to get enough light on the dark wood without blasting everything else.

@sparkleplenty1 Thank you, Joyce. I should have shot the other pieces of furniture in the room. The headboard and footboard of the bed are family pieces... Mom's late sister, who died of leukemia as a child, did a small quilt that hangs on the wall... There is an old trunk that was Clare's maternal grandparents...
