Encore (River Walk; San Antonio, Texas)

One of our family’s vacation traditions is polling everyone during the trip home: “What was your favorite part?” After thinking about it for a moment, I said, “The River Walk.” I guess that has been confirmed by looking though all the photos for today and choosing this one. A close second was a shot from the rear courtyard of the Spanish Governor’s Palace. There were many cool things today.
This image became the “triptych” in our bedroom: https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2014-04-26

» San Fernando Cathedral, http://www.sfcathedral.org/
» Spanish Governor’s Palace, http://www.sanantonio.gov/dtops/parks_plazas/governorspalace.aspx — a real gem and a bargain admission at only $4 ($3 for seniors!)
» Market Square, http://www.sanantonio.gov/marketsquare/
» and, apparently, the River Walk again! http://www.thesanantonioriverwalk.com/

In the end, today’s post has to be from the River Walk again. This was taken from a later-in-the-evening meandering that Clare and I did alone. In the process, we discovered that the River Walk provides a more efficient path to many of the places we have visited the last two days. Next time we’ll know!

We have taken this “train-cation” with our dear friends Raymond & Jeanne. They are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary today!

The lighting you captured is quite nice Thom. It sounds like you had a great time.

This is a really stunning shot, suitable for a poster :)

@digitalrn Great town. The historic area and River Walk can be done in two days. The only down-side to that is that there are soooo many restaurants that you can't effectively "sample" them in two days. But our hotel is definitely the place to stay!

@michelleyoung Aww, thank you so much, Michelle!

Both: I'm struggling to keep up the posts with the end of the semester and the trip. I am hopeful that a less frenetic summer schedule will begin soon!

Such a beautiful river shot with reflections, Thom. I know what your mean by trying to keep up. Three more weeks of school for me - budgets, grades, end-of-the-year field trips, year book, slide show, etc. My head is spinning and I'm so far behind in everything! We just have to prioritize things - everything will fall in place in the end!

@sparkleplenty1 Hang in there! I'm "home" for a few weeks now ... but, too, I haven't been on the lake in over a week! Rowing and 365. If it weren't for the darned day-job! ;)
