‘Untitled’ (or perhaps ‘Stringy, purple flowers’)

First, I don't know the name of the stringy, purple flowers.

Second, with a +4 close-up filter, this is my poor-man's version of a macro shot. To give an idea of size, the red-and-pink background is a single knockout rose bloom…

Thirdly, this is SOOC, except for the added name and being *severely* cropped. And I mean *severely* cropped.

Later edit. It’s “Ageratum.” Genus page at PhytoImages, http://phytoimages.siu.edu/cgi-bin/dol/dol_terminal.pl?taxon_name=Ageratum&rank=genus

I think the name of this flower is "Severely cropped, stringy purple" Don't the exact Latin name, but this is a close translation! Love the purple against the red!

@sparkleplenty1 Title changed, Joyce. I left out the severely cropped part; it's not *their* fault that *I* severely cropped 'em. See how little of the original is above: http://rhoing.posterous.com/todays-post-and-non-posts!

Hi Thom. I had a look at the original photo. I think this is still a wonderful capture and you did brilliantly in the clarity on the stringy bits!

@cmc1200 @digitalrn @netkonnexion @marieooi Thank you, everyone! My initial view of the "parent image" was that the focus was terrible. But in the Windows Picture Viewer, I just zoomed in (Ctrl+[=]) & liked the cropped image. Perhaps I have celia & flagella on the brain: I'm reading a book with subtitle "A Natural History of the Cell" (by L.L. Larison Cudmore)…
