The women went to their [women’s] gym in Porter Square and then we all met at S&S in Cambridge for brunch with Jenny’s good friend, Judy, and her fiance. Grace gave us a driving tour of MIT (and some of its rather — er, unusual — buildings). Later we headed west to Bolton and the Nashoba Valley Winery — http://www.nashobawinery.com/ — and had a wonderful afternoon together. We had a tasting inside and took a couple bottles outside to enjoy with the snacks we brought.
After a Thai dinner in Danvers, Steve took us to a regional tradition since, well, it depends on when you start “counting”. Richardson’s Dairies’ farm dates back to 1695, but they probably weren’t making ice cream for a while after that (1952). More: http://www.richardsonsicecream.com/
Back to Jenny’s apartment and I got to open presents (early) for my birthday next month and after that it was “Sevens” and “Spoons” until Clare & I thought it best to pack our bags for tomorrow’s return to Carbondale.
My Boston & New England friends will be happy to know that I will be taking a stealthily-bought Red Sox cap (ckeeck!) back to the Midwest. Will start reading Moneyball during the trip home tomorrow. Glad to hear that the women worked out at the gym, while you ate and drank! I've got to get myself to Nashoba - have never been there myself! Not sure what you meant by the unusual building of MIT. I must have missed something - they're rather bland and functional - unlike Harvard's buildings, which are typical New England - all brick an ivy. Glad to hear you bought yourself a Red Sox hat. With the way they've been playing, they need all the support they can get! :)
