They’re here. Our new oars — C2s

Many of us on 365 have enjoyed amazing shots MaryBeth has posted using her Rebel T2i. When this box arrived, I wanted to post something similar to MaryBeth’s post, “It's here. My new camera- Rebel T2i” — http://365project.org/espyetta/365/2011-10-01
The problem, of course, is that a 9'10"-long box doesn’t fit very well below any of our indoor windows. I had it propped up on two chairs in a window. I propped it up in the foyer, but they all looked staged and contrived. So I took it back outside and you can see what I saw when I came home. From Morrisville, VT, to Carbondale by FedEx. Secured by 21 of those heavy-duty copper-colored staples: 3 at each end and 15 along the 118" of length. Took two of them out for a “spin” today. It was good to be back on the lake!

Thank you, everyone for your comments & FAVs on my mantid shot from two days ago, http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-09-15 !

@espyetta Since you're "mentioned" here... :)

@digitalrn Lots o' fun, Rick! Thanks. Lake advisory all day today, so I'll have to row indoors on the machine. :(

Awwwww I can imagine the excitment :)

@rhoing Ha! Glad I could be of inspiration! It is so exciting to wait for, and then get something you are so excited to have. Thai you for taking me back to the day I got my beloved camera ....I wrote that I was afraid I would find nothing left to shoot once I got it. Worried that I would let it be a short term fad and the money would be wasted. Neither worry turned out to be true., I had no idea how many bugs and spiders and such were out there hiding, waiting to be discovered!

@espyetta I enjoyed reading your concern about coming up empty again. ("Re-enjoyed"?) Ha! So many bugs & spiders, and so little time! Short-term fad and money wasted and now you're eyeing a macro lens! ;)

@espyetta You'll be happy to know I took my first spider shots today. I probably won't post one today: my shot reminds me about the "research" I did for @ellen ( http://365project.org/ellen/album-2/2012-08-20): I need to get around to the front where the eyes are... :)

@rhoing That is a scary spider in her pic. Sometimes they scare the bleep out of me! Good for you for your first spider pic!
September 19th, 2012
@rhoing Yeah....did not need to worr about the fad thing or the "what can I shoot." thing!
September 19th, 2012
Nice idea. Just do it the way you want.

Fabulous story , cool shot!

Enjoy the oars. When do we see the boat that goes with them?
September 21st, 2012
@nadaa You've seen them!
» Not that it matters because the two are identical (21' Maas Aeros), but ours is the one on the left here, http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-12-20
» And here's the other, an Alden Ocean Shell that's a training boat to introduce new rowers to the on-water sport: http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-06-16
