Orange Sulphur by rhoing

Orange Sulphur

I think this is a Clouded Sulphur (“Colias philodice”), though it may be an Orange Sulphur (“Colias eurytheme”). Captured — once again — in my favorite campus garden next to a greenhouse.

Wrong again. Sigh. Confirmed at BAMONA as Colias eurytheme or “Orange Sulphur”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/744839
(I did know, however, that it’s a female.)

Only 4 frames today (besides some experimental shots of a fruit fly): grading one class’s exams, writing a quiz for the same class for tomorrow, writing an exam for another class for tomorrow and office hours (utilized by two students out of 60+ in advance of tomorrow’s exam)…

Worked for my dinner: since Clare is out of town this week, I installed a new, programmable thermostat for a friend (Clare’s walking buddy) and she cooked dinner. I call ’em “mercy meals” and there have been 2 this week. :)

The plant is from the “Butterfly bush” family (“Buddlejaceae”) and genus “Buddleja”.

Wonderful Thom. I have been trying for weeks to get a shot of one of these but they never land near me. Excellent detail and so pretty.
