Corn Earworm Moth by rhoing

Corn Earworm Moth

Only a dozen frames today, all in my favorite campus garden. I think this will be ID’ed as a Corn Earworm Moth (“Helicoverpa zea”), which I have submitted to BAMONA before — http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/732397 — but haven’t posted here. Since my previous shot found the specimen on pavement, this photo has a much more attractive background.

Confirmed at BAMONA as Helicoverpa zea (family Noctuidae, subfamily Heliothentinae) or “Corn Earworm Moth”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/744757

Still grading, but only have one problem left to grade… :-P

The plant is Lantana camara (family Verbenaceae).

Wonderful! Beautiful detail and focus.

I guess their time of feeding is coming to a slow end

Looks like it from the photo - and just the right location! Most of our moths are just white or beige - very little design on them,
