Spiral-tongued Skipper by rhoing

Spiral-tongued Skipper

Not sure what kind of skipper this is, but the best match in BAMONA’s Hesperiidae gallery is so far out-of-range that I will probably embarrass myself beyond belief with the regional coordinator who has been ID’ing my butterflies this year. This just had to be my post for today because of the side view of its dark proboscis against the white petals of this chrysanthemum. (Yes, I know it looks like a daisy, but it’s a mum!)

Confirmed at BAMONA as Lerema accius or “Clouded Skipper”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/746231

Stray or Resident?
This was ID'ed as a "resident" skipper.
But another post — https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2014-09-05 — was ID'ed as a "stray." Clearly, Carbondale is on fringe or just outside the accepted range for this species, or the range grew a little since this post.

@cjwhite I could be proved wrong, but I just don't think so. And I went through 11 web pages of Hesperiidae images at BAMONA...
