Christine

Arose at a terribly uncivilized hour to be on the water shortly after sunrise with Roland, Kelly, Christine and Jared. Jared was a first-timer who took to sculling quite quickly. Ah, youth.

This is Christine, sculling for only the second time (I think) and making it look easy. She has wonderful posture, full arm extension while still driving with the legs, and her hand positions are keeping the shell well-balanced in the water. Way to go, Christine! (CrossFit probably helps with much of this, right?)

While at the lake, I also photographed a Common Burrower Mayfly (family Ephemeridae) in the Hexagenia genus: http://bugguide.net/node/view/808686

Great shot! I took sculling lessons a couple of years ago...I loved it! I have not been back but think of it often.

Great capture! I like that you centered her in the shot!

@drussell Thanks, Deanna! Sculling is *all* about balance, so it seemed necessary & essential to center her.

@digitalrn It was good to be on the water again. It's been a couple weeks already. It was also fun to share the sport with young, fitness-minded folks!
