At Jenny’s wedding on Mother’s Day, I wore two watches. (I know that a man with two watches never knows what time it is, but grant me some sentimentality on this one.) The wristwatch was my late Dad’s and one of the few personal items specifically mentioned in his will. The pocket watch, with a childhood photo of Jenny under the cover, was my gift from Jenny at her rehearsal dinner! (Steve had one for his dad, too.) My initials are engraved on the top. On the bottom is “Anyone can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.” Awww! Thanks, Jen! I hope I’ve been a “dad” as well as a “father.”
Don’t know why the time is wrong in my camera, but it’s an hour ahead of the correct time and the photo *was* taken on May 21, my parents’ wedding anniversary.

Your parents and mine where married on the same day! What year? Mine were married in 1955. This is cool. Very, very cool. I just gave my future daughter-in-law a hand held silver mirror that belonged to my mother-in-law before she married. Her maiden name began with an H and was engraved on it. My DIL's name begins with H, so I felt it was ordained! I am glad that I got it from my MIL.
@danette Cool! 1955 for my parents, too! My daughter wore the same garter her mother and grandmother wore (neither my FIL nor I "threw" it), my daughter's engagement ring diamond was her grandmother's and at least part of her bouquet this month was her mother's in 1979. We enjoy these sorts of "continuity" things across the generations!
Great story. We were also married in 1979. I might still have my bouquet. Maybe my DIL will take a small piece of it. I offered her my dress to remake if she wanted, but she bought a new one.
