Other common names for “Daucus carota” are “wild carrot,” “bird’s nest” and “bishop's lace.” It is a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae. According to the USDA web site, http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=daca6 »
» My native state of Michigan considers this plant to be a “noxious weed.”
» Ohio labels it a “Prohibited noxious weed.”
» Iowa labels it a “Secondary noxious weed.”
