Upside-down trees

Never tried this before: shooting only the reflection rather than the subject *and* its reflection. A different kind of result from shooting directly “at” the water rather than the shoreline. (I also turned this image upside down; I rather liked the more-artsy effect, but there was also a “contrived” appearance, too, like I was trying too hard to *be* artsy. So I’ve left it right-side-up, so to speak.)

We had Greg & Suzanne over for dinner: “Malibu Rice” and Pine Nut Pesto for a Hawaiian sort of theme. I shot some frames of the pesto ingredients — first in separate containers and then in the Cuisinart before blending — but photographing food is hard, I think!
