My first significant retirement ‘yes’… by rhoing

My first significant retirement ‘yes’…

When I retired from the university, I unloaded a key-ring full of keys (3 door keys + 2 file cabinet keys). It was more than a bit liberating. Now I have a new key-ring of keys…

A friend recently asked me to serve on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit organization. Not just that, though; he wanted me to fill the seat of the recently-resigned secretary. So I will be responsible for recording the minutes of the Board's meetings … and the Executive Committee's meetings, too. It was a request to which I could not say "no." The friend is my former dentist and we worked together on the renovation of our church building many, many years ago.

One of my more important duties will be to check the organization's post office box regularly and frequently. So I have the only PO box key as well as a couple of building keys. Here is the panel of PO boxes where I will be a regular visitor for the next three years.

More about the group in future posts.

@danette Thanks, Danette. It's a worthy cause and Clare supported me saying "yes"!

congrats on the retirement. But it looks like you are going to be in the same boat as my husband since he recently retired...we are actually more busy now than before because we have more time to say YES...but it is a good busy, so why not
